First Real Post

I've been thinking that I need a journal of some sort to keep track of my thoughts, ideas, and random events that happen in my life. Perhaps it's early stages of alzheimers (sp?) setting in, but at the ripe old age of 30, I find it entirely too difficult to remember everything going on in my life. I'm geeky enough that I think I need to store my thoughts in an electronic form, for easy searching, but not quite geeky enough to carry around a Palm Pilot or some other such device. Or perhaps it's just my continued love of Apple's Newton that keeps me from using any such devices, but that's a story for another time.

I figure I should tell you about myself, just in case someone actually happens upon this blog and reads it. I'm a 30 year old married man, who lives in the Portland area with my wife and 2 year old daughter Hailee. I'm a software engineer by day, and a photographer / chef / BBQ fanatic / musician, by night.

So here's my first real blog entry. I'm not expecting anyone to read this, though who knows what the web will bring to my blog. So if you randomly happened upon this place, let me give you fair warning. I tend to ramble, and my life is pretty dull. Which I'm sure will make for great reading if you need something to help you sleep. Sleep well weary internet traveler!
